BCAM and the Month of October: Shopping won’t prevent breast cancer
Patricia Kearns
This year BCAM is using October, which is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, to inform the public about facts that are “unseen and unheard” during this month of pinkwashing.
To help kick off our own October information campaign, please join us for some short street-theatre pieces, created and performed by volunteers from our FemmeToxic program, that will point out the truth behind pink ribbon campaigns. Our education campaign focuses on the importance of primary prevention while revealing facts that remain hidden during the “awareness” month of October.
After introducing our campaign with serious fun, BCAM members and supporters will distribute our information flyers. (Check the BCAM website for date and location details on October 1st.)
