BCAM Members — We Need Your Recipes!
Volunteers and staff at Hope & Cope/L'espoir c'est la vie at the Montreal Jewish General Hospital are looking for recipes from former patients and their loved ones for their new cookbook project titled "Nourishing Hope with Recipes to Cope.”
Few cookbooks have been designed for patients during treatment, despite the importance of food and healthy eating during the recovery process. Our community-based project — led by volunteers and a nutritionist — is looking for people to share their experience by contributing cooking and eating tips to help those who are going through the same ordeal.
Our not-for-profit cookbook is designed to meet the needs of patients undergoing cancer treatment and we hope BCAM members will play a part in this worthwhile venture.
If you have a recipe, an eating/cooking preparation tip, or an anecdote significant to eating that helped you during those difficult days and would like to make a contribution, please contact fellow BCAM member Avis Antel at avisbay@hotmail.com or send a request for a contributor’s recipe form to hopecopecookbook@gmail.com (Recipe forms are also available at the Hope and Cope office, 7th floor of the Segal Cancer Centre at the Jewish General Hospital.)
If you would like more information about this exciting project, including future cookbook events, please contact us.
