Hurry! You have until May 23rd to sign up for the conference, “Cancer: It’s About Prevention. It’s About Time,” to take place at the University of Ottawa from Thursday, May 24th to Sunday, May 27th. This landmark event will draw three remarkable speakers whose work is familiar to BCAM members, Devra Lee Davis, Beverley Thorpe and Sandra Steingraber.

For the past year and a half, BCAM board member, Deena Dlusy-Apel, has helped plan the conference. Among the workshops offered is one led by HEAP Project Coordinator and BCAM member, Madeleine Bird. The workshop, “Personal Care Products, Labelling and the Right to Know” will take place on Friday morning, May 25th.

Saturday evening is the annual “Run, Walk and Roll” fundraiser in which conference participants and others will lace up their running shoes to support efforts for cancer prevention. (See www.stopcancer.org/rwr07/index.html).

Conference registration is $300. The daily rate for Friday or Saturday is $125; for Thursday evening, $45 and for Sunday morning, $75.
