Prevention Is the Cure

In the bright Saturday afternoon sunshine of May 10th , BCAM supporters once again took to Montreal's bustling downtown Ste-Catherine Street for its annual march. This year, the day before Mother's Day was chosen to draw the attention of shoppers to the existence of hazardous chemicals in cosmetics and personal care items.

From the corner of Guy and Ste-Catherine to Phillips Square, we distributed information and collected signatures for a petition addressed to the Minister of Health, Tony Clement, demanding a change in legislation covering ingredients in cosmetics and personal care items.

The marchers were escorted by three police cruisers and the march received publicity from the CBC, Global TV and the Montreal Gazette.

A big 'thank you' to all those who participated.
