Recruiting New Dragon Boat Team Members
Montreal's Breast Cancer Survivor Dragon Boat Team
Two Abreast/Côte-à-côte is an athletic dragon boat paddling team that is comprised entirely of breast cancer survivors The team is a non-profit organization, run by paddlers and supported by corporate sponsors, members and donations.
The team is presently recruiting new team members for their 2006 season. They will be beginning outdoor training in May on the Lachine canal at 22dragons, Montreal's Dragon Boat Racing Club.
Paddling for women who have had breast cancer was started by Dr. Don McKenzie of the University of British Columbia, in the spirit of scientific research. The Montreal team was founded in December 1997, and many other breast cancer survivor teams have joined this sport across Canada, the U.S., Australia, and New Zealand.
