State of the Evidence 2008: The Connection Between Breast Cancer and the Environment

State of the Evidence 2008: The Connection Between Breast Cancer and the Environment, is now available in French and can be found on our website, or purchased through the BCAM office. The project was a combined effort of Breast Cancer Action Montreal and the Breast Cancer Fund. The translation of the text, formatting, editing and printing were done by BCAM and its volunteers, with financial support from the FACT Foundation, a supporter of the Breast Cancer Fund, and the Feigelson Foundation.

State of the Evidence 2008 is a comprehensive report on the environmental exposures linked to increased breast cancer risk, including natural and synthetic estrogens, xenoestrogens and other endocrine-disrupting compounds, as well as carcinogenic chemicals and radiation. It provides a much more complex picture of breast cancer causation than traditionally accepted, one in which timing, mixtures and dose of environmental exposures interact with genes and lifestyle factors.

Limited copies are available. Please contact the BCAM office at 514.483.1846, or look for the links on our website. For more information about the report, visit the Breast Cancer Fund website at www.breastcancerfund.org.
