Recently, BCAM, along with six partner organizations in women’s and environmental health, sent a letter to Procter & Gamble Canada asking them to remove 1,4-dioxane from their products (see the letter here). We are pursuing this in tandem with our U.S. partner, the Campaign for Safe Cosmetics, which is also sending letters to P&G in the U.S.
Canadian Organizations Call for Asbestos Ban — Add your voice!
The most effective action is to send your own letter to the powers-that-be* with a copy to your MNA (Member of the National Assembly), and/or MP (Member of Parliament).
You can download and print a letter drafted for you by BCAM. You can choose one, or all, of the following:
- send a letter to the Health Minister asking that the federal government reject the use of 2,4-D, with a copy to the PMRA:

- send a letter to the federal Minister of the Environment asking that attention be paid to toxins in household cleaning products and requesting the banning of perchlorethylene ('perc') used in dry cleaning.
- send a letter to the cosmetics company of your choice asking them to sign the Compact for Safe Cosmetics and commit to eliminating carcinogens and toxins in their products. Suggested recipients are listed below.
